MysteryGameStudio is a DARE2EXPLORE LTD brand. DARE2EXPLORE LTD is responsible for the personal information collected through the Case Notes form.

Case Notes emails

If you choose to subscribe, we collect your email address, your selected interest, where you signed up and the version of the consent text you accepted. Our form provider records the submission time and may process technical information to deliver and protect the form.

We use these details to send occasional MysteryGameStudio game news and offers suited to your chosen interests. We rely on your consent for marketing. The checkbox is not selected for you. You must be 18 or over to subscribe. Playing the free case does not require a subscription.

Signup records are held through Netlify Forms. Netlify processes them for us to provide the website and form service. Purchases and order messages are handled separately by Etsy under its own privacy notice. We do not collect payment card details on this website.

Withdrawing consent and retention

Use the form below to ask to leave Case Notes, or withdraw consent at any time by messaging MysteryGameStudio on Etsy. Include the email address you want removed. This does not affect processing already carried out while you consented.

We keep your signup while you remain subscribed and it is needed to operate Case Notes. If you withdraw consent, we stop using your details for marketing and remove the active signup. We may retain a minimal record that you opted out so that we do not contact you again by mistake.

Free game progress

The Vanishing Letter saves progress and optional detective notes in your browser’s local storage. That information stays on your device and is not submitted to our signup form. Use Restart case to erase the saved case and notes, or clear this site’s browser storage. If local storage is unavailable, the case remains playable for the current visit.

Saved games and pinned exhibits

If you save a game or pin a free-case exhibit, the selected game identifiers and exhibit numbers are stored on your device. They are not sent to us. Remove saved games through Saved, unpin exhibits, or clear the site’s browser storage. Restarting the case clears its pinned exhibits too. If storage is unavailable, these features work for the current visit. Optional atmosphere audio is created in your browser and stops when the page is hidden.

Website requests

Netlify may process IP addresses and technical request logs to deliver and protect the website. The site does not include advertising pixels, third-party analytics scripts or a cross-site marketing tracker. We do not sell signup information.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or erase your information, restrict processing or provide the data you gave us. Contact us through the MysteryGameStudio Etsy shop. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
